Theodore F. Craver, Jr., is chairman, president and chief executive officer of Edison International, the parent company of Southern California Edison, one of the nation’s largest electric utilities, and subsidiaries that are competitive businesses engaged in generation, delivery or use of electricity.

Craver was elected to his current role in 2008, after having held the positions of president and chief executive officer of Edison Mission Group, and executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer of Edison International.

Before joining Edison in 1996, Craver served as executive vice president and corporate treasurer of First Interstate Bancorp. Throughout his 23 years in the banking industry, Craver served in various capital markets sales and trading positions at Security Pacific National Bank, Bankers Trust Company of New York, and First Interstate Bancorp.

Craver serves on the Boards of the Edison Electric Institute where he is a past chairman, the Electric Power Research Institute (past chairman), Health Net, Inc., the California chapter of The Nature Conservancy, the Autry National Center and the Advisory Board of the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. Craver is a member of the Economic Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Bank’s Twelfth District.

Craver was awarded the Edison Electric Institute’s Distinguished Leadership Award in January 2016, recognizing his significant contributions and commitment to the electric power industry.  

Craver earned an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in economics and international relations from the University of Southern California.
