As President and COO of National Grid’s FERC-regulated businesses, Rudolph Wynter has oversight of one of the largest electric transmission systems in the northeast, connecting thousands of communities and millions of customers to the energy that powers daily life and underpins regional economic vitality.  He oversees the company’s generation fleet, which provides 4,000 megawatts of electricity to more than a million Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) customers.  Mr. Wynter is also responsible for National Grid’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage facility in Providence RI and its gas transmission pipeline investments, including representing the company on the Board of Millennium Pipeline Corporation.

Previously he was senior vice president of US Shared Services and during his more than 25-year tenure at National Grid and its legacy companies has held positions of responsibility in Customer Operations, Strategic Planning, Engineering and Operations. 

He is a member of The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and The American Gas Association (AGA). 

Mr. Wynter is very active in the community and serves on the boards of the United Way of New York City, the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership and the American Association of Blacks in Energy.  In 2015, he was named by City & State to The Responsible 100, which represents New York’s most outstanding corporate citizens.

Mr. Wynter earned his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Pratt Institute, an MBA from Fordham University and has completed and executive development program at Harvard University.
