Roger Gonzalez Lau

Mr. Gonzalez is CEO for CEMEX Energia. He received his BSc degree in Computer Science at the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey and holds a MBA from University of Dallas. Mr Gonzalez has been part of CEMEX for the last 19 years holding positions in IT, Finance and Head of operations in Ireland as CEO of Readymix plc. He has lead the financial integration of acquisitions in Egypt, US, and Europe.

Since 2013 Mr. Gonzalez has been part of the energy team in CEMEX; during this time he has lead he equity financing of one of the largest wind farms in Mexico and negotiated the necessary PPAs ; the creation of CEMEX Energia business unit, including the set up of the largest private energy dispatch and asset management unit in Mexico.  More recently Mr. Gonzalez led the creation of a JV partnership with Pattern Development with the aim to develop renewable projects in Mexico, and keep an active participation in the process of the energy reforms in Mexico.

Mr. Gonzalez has been Member of the Board of the European Readymixed Concrete Organization and Member of the Council of the Building Materials Federation in Ireland.

Mr. Gonzalez had several publications on Treasury Operations, and as a life member of the American Philatelic Society is a keen stamp collector; since 2012 is a full member of the Society of Technical Analysts in the UK.
