Rafael Mateo

Rafael Mateo is the CEO of Acciona Energy since January 2010 and member of theExecutive Committee of Acciona.With more than 30 years of experience in the power sector, Mr. Mateo has a widebackground in Latin American markets as an Executive Director in Endesa Chile from 1999up to 2009, leading the generation activity of Endesa in Latin America.He joined Endesa in 1982 in different positions in Thermal Power Plants and in 1997 wasnamed Director of Thermal Production in Endesa Generación SA. and he was Chairman ofthe UNIPEDE Thermal Production Group in Brussels.Mr. Mateo is an Industrial Engineer from University of Zaragoza and was awarded with theExtraordinary Final –Year prize of the University. He has a PDG from the IESE and a PADEfrom INSEAD.
