Ken McIntyre is the Executive Vice President of The Anfield Group Inc., a technical and regulatory consultancy group specializing in the reliable operations and security of critical infrastructure. Prior to joining The Anfield Group, Ken was an Officer and the Vice President of Grid Planning and Operations for the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, overseeing grid planning and real time operations.

Mr. McIntyre joined ERCOT in 2007 and was a key player in the deployment of the Texas nodal energy market, the implementation of an enterprise regulatory compliance program and the successful integration of intermittent resources in ERCOT. More recently, Ken fronted the ERCOT effort in developing a ‘Future Ancillary Services’ market to provide the necessary reliability services to support the changing resource mix.

Previous to ERCOT, Ken worked in transmission engineering and power system operations within the Australian power industry, most notably with Powerlink Queensland. Ken is aware of the challenges faced by utilities and grid operators through first hand experience as well as various engagements with the power industry experts. Mr. McIntyre holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from the University of Southern Queensland, and a Master of Business from Charles Sturt University.
