Het Shah

Het Shah leads Bloomberg New Energy Finance’s natural gas market research. He has recently joined to help clients navigate both the short-term and long-term market direction. His team gets extensively involved in utilizing the market data to provide fundamental analysis and market views. The teams’ analysis is widely read by trading and strategy professionals and has become a central piece of information used by the industry.

Prior to joining Bloomberg New Energy Finance, he managed and developed views for BP’s natural gas trading desk. His analysis technique established both short and long term positions in regional North American markets. Prior to BP, Het managed the retail pricing desk for a large energy merchant and co-founded a natural gas fund that traded both spot and forward positions with use of a high deliverable storage asset.

Het holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada and a MBA from Queens University in Ontario, Canada.
