Emilie Nelson is the Vice President of Market Operations for the New York Independent System Operator (NYISO), which operates New York’s high-voltage transmission system, manages the state’s competitive wholesale electricity markets, and conducts comprehensive power system planning.
Ms. Nelson has over 15 years experience in the power industry and currently leads the NYISO Market Operations team with responsibility for the administration of the wholesale electricity markets. Market Operations manages the multi-billion dollar capacity market auctions that ensure resources will be available to meet New York’s electricity needs. Ms. Nelson also directs the administration of the NYISO’s demand response programs. With a span of responsibility that includes providing analysis and validation of market accuracy and performance across all market areas.
