David Savage is Vice President and a member of the Board of Managers of Pioneer Green Energy, an Austin, Texas-based developer of utility-scale wind and solar projects. Pioneer Green was started in 2009 by a group of renewable energy industry veterans and has since developed over 1,000 MW of wind and solar projects in operation or under construction in Texas, California and Maryland. David has extensive experience negotiating project contracts, obtaining permits and addressing the natural resource aspects of new generation. His early career was in the field of air quality law as Assistant Regional Counsel for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Atlanta.  Prior to founding Pioneer Green, David was an equity partner with the law firm Baker Botts focusing on project permitting, regulatory compliance, and climate change in the energy sector. He holds a B.A. in economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a J.D. from the University of South Carolina.
