Executive Director
Bader oversees the effective Management of the Masdar Clean Energy business unit to achieveperformance excellence in all areas of green field development, investment (M&A) and operations ofrenewable energy utility scale projects, Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage, Waste to Energy andIndustrial Energy Efficiency solutions.

A UAE national, Bader brings 18 years of outstanding experience in the Energy sector to Masdar throughwhich he is decisively executing on a strong plan that is delivering results today - with nearly 1.5gigawatts of clean energy already deployed or under development globally - while also positioning theclean energy business in Masdar for future growth.

Prior to joining Masdar, Bader led a multi discipline team tasked to develop and deliver a strategicinitiative at ADMA-OPCO (an Abu Dhabi based offshore E&P Company) to increase the oil productionof the company to nearly one million barrel. He also worked for the French oil major TOTAL, based in Paris as Development Planning Engineer, conducting prospect evaluation for the ultra-deep water (1,400– 1,700 metre) oil reservoir (Block 32) in the Republic of Angola. He was also in charge for the debottleneckingof the NKOSSA field gas handling facilities in the Republic of Congo.

Bader is currently the Chairman of Shams 1 Company, a joint venture company between Masdar, TOTALand Abengoa Solar operating the first CSP plant in the MENA region. He also sits on the board of:
  • Torresol Company in Spain operating the 3 CSP plants,
  • Dudgeon offshore wind limited currently building a 402 MW offshore wind farm in the UK,
  • Jordan Wind Power Company building and operating the 1st onshore wind farm in the region.
As a member of the SPE Industry / University Advisory Committee from 2006 – 2008, Bader contributedto enhancing the quality of University Faculty and advancement of R&D for MENA Region. He was alsothe Co-Chairman of the Vision programme for the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition andConference (ADIPEC) 2012, 2013 and 2014. He also chaired the selection committee of Zayed FutureEnergy Prize (ZFEP) for three years 2012 - 2014.

Bader holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, from the UAE University. He joined Masdarin February 2008.
