In 2006 Jacquet was recognized with an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature for his film March of the Penguins. At the Bank of America Merrill Lynch dinner he will share excerpts from his new film Ice and the Sky, a documentary film about the work of Claude Lorius, who began studying Antarctic ice in 1957, and was the first scientist to be concerned about global warming. At age 82, Lorius returns to Antarctica one last time, looking back on six decades of research and adventure to tell a much larger story: the history of the Earth’s climate and the fraught future that awaits us. Jacquet will also share his insights and answer questions from the audience.
